Stafficiency™ is an iOS app for iPad and iPhone that provides an efficient and cost effective way for hospitals to monitor and manage patient care unit staffing. Many hospitals are still using outdated paper systems with limited reporting capabilities, while others have adopted extremely costly software products that require large up-front investments. Stafficiency is a fresh approach.
With Stafficiency, leaders now have immediate and concurrent access to staffing data and can keep up with the dynamic hospital environment from virtually anywhere. Users can view and manage staffing in single or multiple departments and receive real-time variance notifications via iPad or iPhone. Each facility’s individualized staffing guidelines are entered into the app upon initial setup, and staffing levels are recommended according to each department’s current census, unique patient population, and established productivity goals. These hard-wired staffing guidelines serve as a metric for determining positive or negative variances, which are then sent as push notifications to decision makers.
The app stores data and reports it in a dashboard format, which allows users to track variances and their reasons. This provides data-driven opportunities to improve processes that may be impeding hospital performance. For a nominal set-up fee, reasonable monthly subscription, and the purchase of a few iPads and iPhones, a hospital can get set up and begin to improve and efficiently manage the staffing process.
